Basmati rice is a popular variety of long-grained rice that originates in the foothills of the Himalayas. Like all rice, basmati is available in brown and white variations - the white rice is produced by removing the bran, which is the outer husk of each grain. Bran provides dietary fibre and essential fatty acids, making Brown Basmati a healthier alternative. Brown Basmati goes well with spicy curries, pilaf recipes, and anywhere normal White Basmati is used.
